Color Dare #31 - Sunset, Honey, & Buttercup
Hi! Welcome to the Color Dare. We're so glad to have you. Congrats to Kristin Holm, winner of last week's challenge! Don't forget to pick up your blog badge, Kristin.
This week is a prize week! The winner of this week's challenge will receive a D-size stamp set! Happy Valentine's - January Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart.
This week's colors are analogous colors and a much needed burst of sunshine:
Sunset
Honey
Buttercup
I made a CaseStudy card. Check out my blog for details.
Lesson: Analogous colors are 2 to 4 colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel. In this case we have orange, yellow-orange, and yellow. I love these colors because they are warm and bright, and they remind me of a sunny day, or a field of flowers. It's supposed to snow 2 to 4 more inches tomorrow in the storm on top of the up-to-6 foot piles we have all around town. I would love to be in a warm field of flowers, just for a day. Ahhh, spring, I will be so much more thankful for you when you arrive than I would if we'd had a mild winter. :)
Now check out the sunny creations from our wonderful design team, and don't forget to leave a comment for them!

Color Dare #30
Hi, welcome to Color My Heart. I hope y'all had a happy Valentine's Day. Congratulations to Karen Russel who won last week's color dare with this CUTE Valentine. Karen, make sure you grab the Color Dare Diamond badge to display on your blog!
This week's dare is complementary colors:
This week's dare is complementary colors:
Pacifica
Sorbet
I used the Chantilly Cardmaking Workshop on the Go, and just switched up the colors. Visit my blog for details.
Lesson: Complementary colors are 2 colors that sit across from each other on the color wheel. The typical combinations are red/green, purple/yellow, and blue/orange, which is the one we're using today. I like Sorbet as a complement to our blues, because it's subtle and has a little pink in it, which makes it look more feminine. I would use a stronger orange like Sunset for more masculine projects.
As usual, our design team blew me away with their beauty, creativity and inspiration this week. Please leave them some comments!
Now it's your turn. Use these colors to make a project. It can be a layout, card, or 3-D project. If you don't have these exact colors, use the closest that you have. Take a picture of your project and link it up here. Make sure you link back to us in your post. Please read the sidebar for complete rules. Have fun!
