Color Dare #18 - Flirty Raspberry, La Belle Vie Pink, & Avonlea Teal

Hey everybody! Welcome to the color dare for Close To My Heart's exclusive color pallette! You're in for a surprise today. But first, congratulations to Joanne Barnes. She won the color challenge from last week with her card using Smokey Plum, Sweet Leaf and Sunset! Technically, she broke the rules by adding an extra color (Honey, maybe?), but I'm just smitten with this card. I think it's the ribbon, or maybe the cute little coffee beans. Anyway, I made an exception for you, Josie, just this once. ;)


Now on to our surprise: I am using three kit-exclusive colors for our dare this week:
Flirty Raspberry
La Belle Vie Pink
Avonlea Teal

I know these aren't available in inks, but they are available in cardstock if you have the kits, and they are available in B&T's. If you don't have the kits, you could make something with the B&T samples if you have those. I try to get an extra one to use for emergencies, especially if I haven't ordered the kit yet.

I made a card altering a pattern from Originals:

 

Our guest designer, Annette Clark, made this card using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge:

What a neat card! She makes the colors look so bright and cheery.

Color Dare # 17 - Smokey Plum, Sunset, & Pear

Hi! Welcome to Color My Heart. Thanks for visiting. A big congrats goes out to Annette Clark for winning the color dare last week!


This week's colors are triadic, secondary colors:

Smokey Plum
Sunset
Sweet Leaf

Hi! Welcome to the Close to My Heart Color Dare! Congrats to Joyce Lau for being the winner from last week:


The colors for this week are, as promised, more appropriate to Fall. I chose 4 analagous colors:
Cranberry
Autumn Terracotta
Goldrush
Honey

 

Lesson: Analagous colors are colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel. In this case, we have red, red-orange, orange, and orange-yellow.

Color Dare #15 - Lagoon, Pear, and Creme Brulee

Hi everybody! I'm so excited to be back doing the color dare again! I've been gone for over a month and it was way overdue. We are all settled into our new house and enjoying it. Thanks for bearing with me, and I apologize for the delay.

This week we are featuring Summer colors because I am trying to catch up on my scrapbooking from our summer vacation. Next week look for colors more appropriate to Autumn. This week's colors are:

Lagoon
Pear
Creme Brulee

Here is my summery layout, using Footloose:

This layout is completely level 2, using Dimensional Elements complements and no stamping. The pattern is Sweet Symphony from Imagine.

Moving

Hi everybody. Please forgive me for not posting this in a timely manner. I didn't mean to leave you all in the lurch. I am moving next week, so, with packing and all, I will not be posting the color dare for a few weeks. Hopefully after 2 weeks I will be back and in full swing, but bear with me in the mean time.
