Color Dare #4

Hi everyone and welcome back to the Color My Heart color dare, the Close to My Heart exclusive color challenge. I'm so excited we're up to 90 followers. Only 10 more and we'll have 100!!!! And thanks to the 5 of you who joined in last week!

Congrats to Jody Gustafson for being the winner of Color Dare #3! Her card out of the idea book was perfect!

Franny's Pick: Amie Kiger!

Ruth's pick: Shelly Nemitz!

Our challenge for this week will be Triadic colors:
Cranberry
Sunkiss Yellow
Sky

Lesson: Triadic colors are 3 colors that are equal distances apart from one another on the color wheel. In this case, I chose primary colors (I will talk more about primary and secondary colors next week). Triadic colors work best when you use one color as your main color, the second as your secondary color, and the third as your accent.

I chose these colors in particular because they work well with our Superhero kit. For that reason I am also allowing Moonstruck on your projects.

On my card, I used yellow as my main color, with blue as the secondary color, and I accented with red. It's a silly one! I made it for my husband for Father's Day, and he doesn't like generic superheroes. So I just had to add the Superman stickers :)

Materials used:
Paper: Sunkiss Yellow and Cranberry cardstock
Other: Superhero Level 2 compliments rub-ons, Superman stickers (not CTMH)

Franny used white as her neutral, blue as her main color with red as the secondary color, and a pop of yellow with the seam binding ribbon.
Materials used:
Paper: White card, Sky cardstock
Stamps: Country life, Universal Backgrounds
Inks: Cranberry, Sky, Moonstruck, Sunkiss Yellow
Other: Color-ready Seam Binding Ribbon

Ruth also made a Father's Day card for her husband:
Ruth used the Superhero B&T with Moonstruck and Black cardstock for the cityscape (from the Schoolbook Cricut cartridge).  Her base is Grey Flannel. She used sparkles for the windows, Comic Badge Buttons, black pearls and a Superman sticker (not CTMH).  Here's the inside of her card:
And now we have a special treat from our guest designer, the winner from last week, Julia Hammond!
The candles on this card are stamped with D1280 Spot On Background.  Julia used Moonstruck ink on the Sky and Moonstuck candles and Cranberry on the Cranberry candle. The sentiment is stamped in Moonstruck on Sky cardstock with a sentiment from the Art Philosophy collection. This is so creative and whimsical - I love it!

Bonus Points: I have a feeling you'll be using the Superhero kit for this one. You don't have to, but if you do, I'll give you bonus points if you make it a Level 2 project, ie. instead of stamps, use the rub-ons! And as always, you get bonus points for using 100% current CTMH products! (none for me this week.)

So get to it! All you have to do is make a project using the featured colors, take a picture of it, and upload it to your blog. Include a link to this blog in your post, and link up your post (not the blog, just the post) at the bottom of this page. Have fun!
