Color Dare #53 - Blush, Sorbet, & Gypsy

Good Morning everyone! I've got a couple of things to say before we start. First, if you're participating in the challenges, consider turning off word verification to make it easier on us to leave you comments! Second, Lela has a surprise prize for the month of July, so this is your last chance to enter! Third, the design team is going to start choosing runners up, so I will be closing the Linky tool on Thursdays at noon now. Fourth, today is the last day to enter if you are interested in our Design Team Call, so get your applications to me ASAP! Go here to read all about it.

Okay, I'd like to congratulate Polly Lewis for winning the Ruby, Olive, Twilight challenge with her superb Artbooking card! Polly, you may grab the Color Dare Diamond award badge to display on your blog!

Our colors for this week are:

Gypsy
Blush
Sorbet

My card uses the Mojo Monday sketch for this week and verse from Word Art Wednesday.

Our guest designer this week is Wendy Coffman, who I had the pleasure to meet in person at convention. She made a beautiful Laughing Lola card:

Now it's your turn! Create a project using the suggested colors. You may use any neutrals (from CTMH basics collection). If you don't have any CTMH colors, just use the closest you have. Take a picture of your project and post it to your blog. Link your post up here and make sure to include a link to us in your post. Please read our sidebar for complete rules! Most importantly, have fun!

Color Dare #52 - Ruby, Twilight, and Olive

Hi everybody! Go here to see our Design Team call. Congrats to our winner from last week: Michelle Loncar! She made this gorgeous floral card:

Michelle, Don't forget to display the Color Dare Diamond badge on your blog!

Don't forget that we have another prize this month! Lela will be giving away a surprise, so the more you play, the more chances you have to win!

Our Color dare for this week are some shades of red, blue, and green:

Ruby
Twilight
Olive

I made a Christmas card with the new hostess-only penguin stamp set:
The sketch is from Deconstructing Jen. You can view more details on my blog.

Lesson: Shades are darker versions of a color. You get a darker shade by adding black to that color. Ruby is a shade of red, Twilight is a shade of green-blue, and Olive is a shade of green. Shades are great for masculine or winter/autumn themed projects!

Our first guest designer this week is Jody Gustafson! She made a beautiful dragonfly card. Go visit her blog to see the beautiful inside too!

Our second guest designer is Teresa Riglin. Look at this cute baby card she made!

And here are the beautiful projects from Design Team B:

Now it's your turn! Create a special project using the suggested colors. If you don't have Close To My Heart colors, just use the closest you have. Take a photo of your project and post it to your blog. Link your blog post here and don't forget to put a link to us in your post! Please read the sidebar for complete rules. Most importantly, have fun!

This week we have another neutral combo:

Desert Sand
Bamboo
Choose one other color (not a neutral)

I chose Pear as my color. Here is my card based on a CAS(E) This Sketch. You can read more about it on my blog.

Our guest designer, Pam Ellison, chose Gypsy. She made a beautiful embossed quilt card!

Marie Flayer - Autumn Terracotta

Becca Whitham - Twilight

Pam Korte - Sorbet

Design Team Call

Hi! I've got some news. We've made some minor changes at Color My Heart which includes dividing our Design Team into 2 teams. Each team will create every other week. Since we have 6 DT members currently, having my sample, a guest designer sample, and 3 DT member samples every week would give us 5 samples per week. I would prefer to have around 7, so we are looking to add two to four more design team members.

Here is how you apply:

All you need to do is send me your name, email address, blog address, and a bit about why you'd like to join the team. I would also love it if you'd include three of your best projects. Remember, we're a papercrafting blog. You can make ANY kinds of projects you like using paper and the Close to My Heart products. You can even use CTMHs fabric and the new Base and Bling!

You do NOT have to be a Close To My Heart consultant to apply, but you do have to love Close To My Heart products. It is not required that projects use 100% CTMH products, but they must contain some. As a member of our group, you'd be responsible for submitting one project every other week, and for commenting on participant entries during the week you are scheduled. You would also take turns taking over the posting when I am not able to post.

Alright! Are you excited? So am I!! I can't wait! You have until July 26th to apply. The new DT will be announced on August 2nd.

Good luck!

Color Dare #50 - Surf's Up Gold, Surf's Up Teal, Crystal Blue, & Sorbet (Ponderosa Pine optional)

Hi everybody! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July or Canada Day! I had a great time at convention and am excited for the upcoming paper packs! I'm sorry I didn't get around to posting the winner for last week, so we will have two winners this week: one for the Smoothie/Topiary challenge, and one for the Cranberry/Pacifica challenge.

First our winner from the Smoothie/Topiary challenge was: Teresa R!

I loved the straight lines and geometric patterns of this card. Teresa, don't forget to grab the Color Dare Diamond to display on your blog!

Next, our winner from last week was: Jody Gustafson!

I love the blue matting and all the different patterns on this card! Beautiful, Jody!

This week's colors are from the Surf's Up paper pack:

Surf's Up Gold
Surf's Up Teal
Crystal Blue
Sorbet
Ponderosa Pine (optional)
I made a card using Deconstructed Sketches:
If you don't have the Surf's Up paper packet with the kit-exclusive colors, Lagoon and Honey make great substitutions. For more details about my card, visit my blog.

Our guest designer this week is Michelle Loncar. Check out this beautiful project of hers!
