Welcome back to Color My Heart. I am in sunny Alabama right now. There was a blizzard about to hit northern Wisconsin on the day we were supposed to leave for our vacation, so we decided to leave a day early. We missed the blizzard, but guess what. I didn't get my color dare project done! Oh well, not to worry, we have 2 guest designers this week!
First, congrats to Mary Thompson for winning last week's color dare with this cute card. I love the sparkly trees and embossed snowflakes!
This week's colors are tints of purple and blue:
Gypsy
Sky
Lesson: Tints are colors with a little white added to them. Often tints are called pastels. They are used to give a softer effect and are usually calming. The calming properties make them ideal to use in baby's rooms to help them sleep.
Our first guest designer is Marie Flayer. She made a lovely quilt card that looks like she put a lot of work into:
Our second guest designer is Linda Anderson. She made a cute friendship card - I love the gears embossing. (I sure wish CTMH would make embossing folders.)
Now it's your turn! Please read the sidebar for our challenge rules and remember, this dare will be open for two weeks. I will try to make a project when I get home. In the meantime, have lots of fun, and have a very merry Christmas!

Color Dare #22 - Twilight & Sweet Leaf
Welcome back to Color My Heart! We have a design team call! Go here
for details if you'd like to apply.
Congrats to Linda Anderson, winner of last week's buttercup challenge. She got bonus points for using black and white as her neutrals. Isn't this a cute card?
This week's challenge is based on some ribbon I had on hand:
Sweet Leaf
Twilight
Please look at the side bar for the challenge rules. Have fun this week!
PS I will probably put up a challenge next week, but then I am going out of town for the holidays. So there will only be one more dare in December.

Design Team Call
Hello Color Fans! I am looking for some help to keep up with the Color Dare and to create fabulous papercrafting projects for inspiration. Do you enjoy working with different color cominations? Do you have time to create one project a week? Are you interested in working with some wonderfully talented women? Then why not apply to be on our first 2013 design team?
All you need to do is send me your name, email address, blog address, and a bit about why you'd like to join the team. I would also love it if you'd include three of your best projects. Remember, we're a papercrafting blog. You can make ANY kinds of projects you like using paper and the Close to My Heart products.
You do NOT have to be a Close To My Heart consultant to apply, but you do have to love Close To My Heart products. It is not required that projects use 100% CTMH products, but they must contain some. As a member of our group, you'd be responsible for submitting one project a week, and for commenting on participant entries. You would also take turns taking over the posting when I am not able to post.
Alright! Are you excited? So am I!! I can't wait! You have until December 21st to apply. The new DT will be announced on January 4th.
Good luck!

Color Dare #20 - Smoothie, Olive, New England Ivy, & Cranberry
Hi! Welcome to a new Color Dare! Congrats to last week's winner, Cassandra Bennett! She made this cute Santa card:
This week's colors are, again, complementary, and again, shades of green and red. But I can't get enough of them! The idea is to use our Pear & Partridge pack for this challenge.
Smoothie
Olive
New England Ivy
Cranberry
I used the Pear & Partridge papers and rub-ons, and the Christmas Love stamp set.
Here are some special gift tags from our guest designer, Jody Gustafson. She put Ghirardelli chocolates inside! Isn't that a clever and thoughtful gift tag idea?
I'm giving bonus points to anyone who uses Pear & Partridge for their project this week!
Now get to it. Create something fabulous and link it up here! View the side bar for our complete rules.

Color Dare #19 - Cranberry, Hollyhock, and Sweet Leaf
Thanks for visiting Color My Heart for this week's color dare! Congrats to Jody Gustafson! She is the winner of last week's trendy challenge using Flirty, Avonlea, and La Belle Vie.
Our colors for this week are complementary colors:
Cranberry
Hollyhock
Sweet Leaf

I made a CASE study card. I am giving bonus points to anyone who makes a Christmas card, layout or project using these colors!
Here is a Christmas card from our guest designer, Joanne Barnes. It's so pretty. The pink on red looks fantastic and the
sentiment is perfectly balanced color-wise. The pink layer underneath looks
great too. The red layer on top of the green layer looks nice with a white layer in between. It also ties in the white ribbon.
Please upload your own creations and play along. Read the side bar for complete rules! Have fun!

Color Dare #18 - Flirty Raspberry, La Belle Vie Pink, & Avonlea Teal
Hey everybody! Welcome to the color dare for Close To My Heart's exclusive color pallette! You're in for a surprise today. But first, congratulations to Joanne Barnes. She won the color challenge from last week with her card using Smokey Plum, Sweet Leaf and Sunset! Technically, she broke the rules by adding an extra color (Honey, maybe?), but I'm just smitten with this card. I think it's the ribbon, or maybe the cute little coffee beans. Anyway, I made an exception for you, Josie, just this once. ;)
Now on to our surprise: I am using three kit-exclusive colors for our dare this week:
Flirty Raspberry
La Belle Vie Pink
Avonlea Teal
I know these aren't available in inks, but they are available in cardstock if you have the kits, and they are available in B&T's. If you don't have the kits, you could make something with the B&T samples if you have those. I try to get an extra one to use for emergencies, especially if I haven't ordered the kit yet.
I made a card altering a pattern from Originals:
Our guest designer, Annette Clark, made this card using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge:
