Color Dare #41 - Choose your own color with Cocoa & Saddle

Hey there, color lovers! I have a little something different for you today, but first I'd like to congratulate our winner from last week: Denise Elliot! She got bonus points for using 100% current CTMH products. Don't forget to pick up your Color Dare Diamond badge from our sidebar, Denise!

The colors for this week are a little different:

Choose one color
Cocoa
Saddle

Normally you are allowed to use only the colors we pick, with the addition of any neutrals. This time around you can choose any one color you want, but we pick the neutrals! You must use Cocoa and Saddle in your project. White is also allowed (Colonial White or White Daisy). I think you'll have fun with this one. Our very own Caroline came up with this idea, so you might be seeing more flip-flopped dares from time-to-time.

I made a scrapbook layout for my son's album, and chose Lilac Mist as my color:
You can check out my blog later today for details.

Here are some examples from our wonderful design team:

Caroline Bredeson - Dream Pop

Pam Korte - Ponderosa Pine
Here is my project for this week. I weaved the paper and then stamped it prior to placing on the card. Ponderosa Green is my color with the neutrals.

Marie Flayer - Creme Brulee

Becca Whitham - Cotton Candy

Lela Norris - Honey
050313 Cocoa & Honey

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one color of your choice with Cocoa & Saddle as your neutrals. If you don't have those exact colors, come as close as you can. Take a photo of your project and post it to your blog or online gallery. Make sure you include a link to us in your post. Then link your post up here at the bottom of this page. Please read our sidebar for complete rules! Most importantly, have fun!

Color Dare #40 - Goldrush, Sunset, & Creme Brulee

Hi. Welcome to the Color My Heart color dare. We would love for you to play along with us. We will give you some colors and you can make a project with them. We'd love for you to use Close To My Heart colors, but if you don't have them, just use the closest that you've got!

Congrats to our winner from last week: Jody Gustafson. Jody is a loyal player here at Color My Heart, and she really stepped up this past week. Thank you, Jody. Don't forget to grab your badge! Isn't her card wonderful?

This week's colors are different shades of orange:

Sunset
Goldrush
Creme Brulee

These colors are a bit unusual together. Sunset has a lot of red in it and is bright, which clashes a little with the darker shade of Goldrush. However, they look really cool in our paper pack, Buzz and Bumble. So give it a try. You might like it!

I made a Mother's day card for my mom. You can read about it on my blog.

Here is a project from our guest designer, Linda Joyner:

Color Dare #39 - Gypsy, Sky, & Outdoor Denim

Hi everybody! I hope you've had a great week. Mine was busy, and it's about to get busier with a bridal shower tomorrow and my daughter's birthday on Sunday. So you have an idea why I'm a little late posting this. Sorry! If you're joining us for the first time, I will let you know what we are all about. I will give you a set of colors, and you can use those colors to complete a project and post it here. If you don't have the exact colors, that's okay, just use the closest that you have. I encourage using some or all Close To My Heart products, but if you don't have any, that's okay too.

I want to congratulate Joyce Lau for winning last week's challenge! She made a simple, but striking card:

This week's color dare is based off of a blouse that my daughter wore in one of her portraits. I had a request for purple, so I give you this combination of cool colors:

Gypsy
Sky
Outdoor Denim

I made a set of thank-you cards for my daughter's birthday. Please visit my blog to find out more details.

Lesson: Cool colors are the colors on the side of the color wheel from green to purple.

Here is a  project from our first guest designer, Kristine Tenase!

This is from our second guest designer, Jodi Brewster!

And here is the awesome design team, with some wonderful creations. PLEASE go visit their blogs because there is some cool stuff about these creations you'll want to see!

Color Dare #38 - Buttercup, Pear, & Twilight

Hello! Welcome to Color My Heart. If you're new to us, we post a new challenge every Friday, and we dare you to play along. You can use whatever products you like, just make sure you come as close to our color combo as possible. Our winner of the Color Dare Diamond from the Juniper challenge is Linda Joyner! Her card was so creative! I just love the shelf with the vase and frame! So clever. Linda, you can grab your badge from our sidebar to display on your blog!

Our colors for this week are some more subtle colors from the Chantilly paper pack:
Twilight
Pear
Buttercup
I made a card using the back sides of the 3 papers from Chantilly. The sketch is from Deconstructing Jen. You can see more details at my blog.

Here is the beautiful artwork by our design team!
